From time to time the conservancy district fields questions about a community water system or water wells. Should a community water system ever be developed for Heritage Lake, the Clear Creek Conservancy District's district plan includes the purpose of water supply. There are currently no plans to develop a community water system. We have recently included links at the bottom of our Home Page to the IDNR-Division of Water well records, water level maps and a map of acquifer systems in Putnam County.

Clear Creek Conservancy District recommends homeowners have backflow prevention devices and insurance coverage for sewer backup. A power failure or other equipment failure can result in sewer backup at any time of year.

A current Inflow/Infiltration inspection must be submitted prior to sale. The seller must have a licensed plumber complete the district's form verifying no sump pumps or other illegal connections to the sanitary sewer exists which is then submitted to the district. Once completed, the inspection is good for 2 years.
